I love painting flowers. My mother was a keen gardener: roses, peonies, and clematis being some of her favorites. One of my earliest watercolors as a child was of her favorite Peace roses, and I still love painting them, creating both realistic and more whimsical images. Many of my flower paintings are from those growing in my own yard, from life, or from photographs visiting other gardens.
